  • Kamishiabai workshop flyer

I designed these flyers for web advertising of my own kamishibai workshops for children. Kamishibai is a traditional Japanese storytelling art form and the flyer design includes cultural details such as Japanese lanterns and Japanese ume flowers. I am a Pisces which is why I included the detail of two fish swimming in the same direction. Did you know that in older zodiacs, the Pisces fish were actually depicted swimming in the same direction? This symbolizes that Pisces have the ability to align their dual nature and listen to their strong inner intuition.

  • Editing, website branding & copy-writing of online magazine

As Editor-in-Chief and Webmaster of Anansesem, and online Caribbean children's literature magzine, I've written copy, announcements/press releases and interview scripts, and edited and proofread contributor content.

I also designed the ezine's look and branding including its logo, flyers, business card and letterhead. ##

    The Anansesem logo

Anansesem flyer / business card (front)

    Anansesem social media ad

    The old Anansesem website

    The current Anansesem website

The redesigned logo with a letter 'A' climbing onto a soapbox of books, symbolizes the ezine's renewed commitment to stepping up on behalf of Caribbean children's literature, and reaching higher in our mission to achieve more visibility for Caribbean children's book creators. The single blue book represents the way Caribbean literature for children stands out from other literature for children. Blue is the color of freedom, imagination, inspiration and communication. The color orange is associated with sunshine and the tropics, and also symbolizes enthusiasm, creativity, determination and success.
